Whisky Single Malt Double Wood Balvenie 17 Anni

This single malt comes from the renowned Balvenie distillery, located in the small town called Dufftown in the North East of Scotland, where it is handcrafted with the work of one of the most important malt masters of Scotland, David Steward. It is the result of a long and complex process of aging that makes it unique and fascinating. The technique is known as 'cask finishing' and consists of a double maturation in different woods: the first one in American oak barrels, which gives the distillate a mild and sweet aroma of vanilla; the second one in oak barrels of European sherry, where the whiskey gets spicy aromas and it becomes round and deep. Honey, vanilla, dried fruit, caramel, roasted almonds, oak and cinnamon are just some of the flavors that the Double Wood spread in mouth, an incredible and fascinating variety of scents, hints and suggestions. It smells wood and green apple with the aftertaste of oak, honey and vanilla. Its production process in the little Balvenie distillery, built in 1892, is conducted only with handcrafted methods: barley-growing, malting, maintenance of alembics and manufacture of barrels. This Double Wood aged for 17 years and now it reached its best and unique characteristics.
