Merlot 'Vo' Vecchio' Alla Costiera 2013

The Merlot "Vo' Vecchio” is definitely one of the top products of Alla Costiera; a red wine that the winery loves described as sincere, unique, like a wine in continuous evolution. A Merlot that is offered to her mouth full, warm, enveloping, velvety; a Merlot that gives a pleasant bouquet of red fruit undergrowth of cherry, with the classic vanilla finish that distinguishes this variety. We are in Vo’, in the heart of the Euganean Hills, south-west of Padova. An area rich in history and charm that led Filippo to fall for this world; a love blossomed in 1998 when Filippo decided to take the path of its own production, achieving great results in a short time. The philosophy of the winery Alla Costiera, whose name comes from the local lingo "costs" that identifies the place where the holding is located and the fact that the screws are exposed to the sun, is one of those really fascinating: maximum respect for the land, of 'environment and of nature, with the aim to exalt the peculiarities of these three elements. The Merlot "Vo' Vecchio" is born following these guidelines; the "Vo' Vecchio" comes from grapes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Raboso, harvested from vines over 70 years of age. The fermentation is triggered with indigenous yeasts only, after which the Merlot "Vo’ Vecchio” by Alla Costiera is left to age for 12 months in oak barrels, and then stabilized in the bottle for at least as long.
