Dogliani 'San Luigi' Marziano Abbona 2015

Dolcetto San Luigi by Marziano Abbona is a terroir-wine par excellence, by virtue of an historical tie which links the production of Dolcetto with the area of Dogliani in the Langhe. Since always, the curiosity for the complexity of flavors and perfumes moves the work of the cellar Abbona, towards a continuous and daily research of new discoveries and more and more subtle way of wine-refining. The cellar Abbona was founded in 1970 and put its roots in the most genuin tradition of wine, with a passion for flavors and perfumes which were renewed generation after generation and with a cultural heritage evolving with the best care and dedication. Radicated to the correct expression of indigenous grape varietes of Langhe, the cellar Abbona dedicated itself for long time to the safeguard of its crus, vineyards which really resemble like gardens, everyone of them with a specific vocation for the cultivation of different varietes. Among these, what stands out is the vineyard of San Luigi, planted more than 50 years ago, entirely dedicated to the cultivation of Dolcetto, with a soil mostly composed of clay and an optimal exposure to South-East. From these historical vineyards arises the Dolcetto San Luigi, that Abbona produces with a traditional style, favoring a genuine expression of the fruit and seconding softness and smoothness.
