Barbera d'Alba 'Marun' Matteo Correggia 2018

The Barbera d'Alba "Marun" by Matteo Correggia borns in the territory of Canale d'Alba, in the heart of Roero, on a vineyard facing to the South and located about 300 meters above the sea level; here the soil is mainly sandy, but the texture also includes small percentages of silt and clay. Land that reflects the personality, character, structure and elegance in wine, namely those traits that distinguish the Barbera "Marun". That of Matteo is a winery founded by the love for nature and the discovery of the real potential of a land that then was considered only for fruits and vegetables.

But the tenacity of Matteo soon convinced the more even the Roero could give birth to great red wines, and the Barbera d'Alba "Marun" it is a concrete example. Maceration for 6-8 days and the end of fermentation in barrels where it remains then for another 18 months; new barrels for the 60% who transfer elegance and softness to "Marun" that reveals a beautiful personality made of black cherry and plum, violet and blueberry, blackberry and tobacco, ending on nuances of vanilla and toasted wood.
